When it comes to politics, I'm usually as cynical as they come - but there's still something wonderfully heartwarming about watching the citizens of the world's newest republic dancing in the streets and celebrating their independence.
Congratulations, Kosovo! Welcome to the world, and please oh please don't fuck up.

As an added bonus, there's nothing like watching those same people (who, incidentally, are 90% Muslim) waving American flags and chanting "Thank you, USA" to remind you that spreading freedom wasn't always a dirty phrase.
